Thaipusam 2010
Nikon D700
Thaipusam, celebrated on the day of the full-moon in January-February, commemorates the birthday of the Hindu deity Subramaniam. On this day, Hindus show the sincerity of their faith. Devotees pray for divine help and make vows. When their prayers are answered, they fulfil their vows, by carrying out an act of physical burden; piercing their chest with spikes and lemon, and then either pulling a chariot, or carrying Kavadis, along a 4km route from Serangoon Road to Tank Road.

Tigresses at home
My new flash.
Got myself a new flash after I returned and got a refund on the sputtering SB-800. Decided to buy it brand new this time at $670 even if used ones can be had for $600 on the 2nd hand market. $70 for peace of mind. Out of the box, the first thing which strikes you about the SB-900 is its size. It is a lot bigger than the SB-800. I should have included an SB-800 in the picture for comparison. Anyway it's supposed to be ground-breaking(Thom Hogan) if you believe the reviews. The interface has definitely improved. I haven't had a chance to really break it in so I can't comment much. Hopefully I will get some wedding jobs soon and I can come back with more to say.
