A nap on the tightrope.

I took this during the stressful marking period, on a walk around the neighbourhood.

Creatures

Depth of field at Sungei Buloh.

Haven't been to Sungei Buloh in awhile (the last time was 3 weeks ago). I don't know why. Exams are over, marking's completed, I should have more time, but I have been really occupied the last few weekends.

Tired and unsung.

These are the people who clear our rubbish, build our houses, lay our roads, wash our dishes. They do very hard, very dirty work; work Singaporeans shun, at very little pay, and often under terrible living conditions. Instead of sticking our noses up at them, or making disparaging remarks about them (and I have been guilty of that myself) , the next time we meet them, let us give them a friendly smile of appreciation.

The Choys

Nikon FM2 with Carl Zeiss ZF 50 1.4, AGFA ASA 400 Colour Film

My buddy Kenny held his wedding over the Deepavali long weekend. Pushed up by 1 stop, the the film holds its own, with no excessive graininess.

Don't you just love the feel of film?

Exercise.

Nikon D50 with Zeiss ZF 50 1.4

Every Friday, school begins an hour later than normal, to allow the teachers an hour to exercise. This week I wasn't able to join the usual kickabout on the field because my ankle is slightly swollen from Wednesday's exertions at VS/VJC.

Tetra.

D50 with 55mm micro-nikkor + Extension tube

Seen in my brother's hospital tank. Very obviously, it didn't make it. Each one of these little fishes costs 50 cents. There were two of them floating around.

Shape

Shapes make powerful and often alluring photographic subjects either independently or as elements within a a composition. Silhouettes are commonly used in photographic composition and is a clear example of Shape.

That's a dead spider being sucked on by some kinda worm.

I think I messed up the depth of field but you read the title. You can see this specimen has hairy legs and 8 eyes. Can you pick out the worm I mentioned? Taken with Fuji S5pro with Tokina 100mm Macro lens.

2 months.

Fuji S5pro with Nikon 35mm F/2

It's been 2 months since I brought Miu Miu home. From a sick little thing, she (or so we thought), now most probably He, has really blossomed into a real little tiger, full of energy(although the photo above seems to suggest otherwise) and curiosity. As it is with every new pet, inevitably, there have been some headaches; the latest, just a couple of moments ago, she got onto the dinner table and somehow pushed a tea-cup over, shattering it all over the floor, but, taking everything into consideration, I don't regret my decision that day, to bring her home, and to fork out money for the vet. She has brought a lot of joy into our lives. And it's really the tiniest things - like when she curls up with us in bed every night, or her happy purrs and excited little jigs, welcoming us home everyday.

Miu Miu you little monster. Sleep tight.
We love you. Don't grow up too fast.

I think besides photographing, I need to write more; I need to think about, reflect on, the subjects I photograph.

Around the House II

In between scripts; shutter clicks around the house.

Balcony wall after the creeper plants were removed.

Rainy day, great weather for a nap, unfortunately not for me.

My brother has gone to coach his women's team at UWC.

Leaving his work with the new fish tank half complete.
