Fuji Natura 1600 Film.

Developed my roll of 24 from Japan today - my first ASA 1600 roll. I am pretty impressed by its quality; I should have got a few more rolls from Japan.

Life is hard.

Life is hard., originally uploaded by wxlim123.

Shot this some time back. Panasonic Lumix L1. I am torn between pity and admiration for the old man. It's a hard life but at least he's earning his own keep.

My buddy Terence asked me if I would like to photograph his car. I said. "Why not?"

A Heron at Sunset.

Nikon D50 with 75-240mm

After a whole string of rainy days, we had a crimson sunset this evening. A little heron was fishing for dinner.

Inter-School Handball.

Over the weekend, as a favour to my buddy, Tweety, who's on the organising committee, I was at Bedok South Secondary School, covering the inaugural Inter-Schools Handball Championship.

S'pore's Thieves' Market

Sungei Road is something different in sanitized Singapore. Most of these photos were shot from the hip; the typical practice for street photography.

What's he up to?

Lumix L1 with 25mm Pancake

Took this photo last Saturday, somewhere in between Sungei Road and Serangoon Road. The only explanation I can think of - the fella is trying to weasel a few extra bucks from the recycling plant. Damp cardboards weigh more.

Singapore vs Thailand- Asian Cup Qualifier. Kallang without the roar.

It's been such a long time. We screamed ourselves hoarse. 3-1. We lost to a better team. I don't blame the players, I don't blame Raddy. The problem goes deeper. Something is seriously wrong with the FAS. Despite the result, despite the slight drizzle, we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

Light, Brilliant Light.

Walking home after my soccer game and Arnotts Chicken, the setting sun evening light worked its wonder and I might have just shot my best image in 3 months.

The Smiling Buddha.

The smiling buddha., originally uploaded by wxlim123.

Taken at Waterloo Street today. Kinda ironic, because before that, I had come out of the library, only to discover that my bike had been stolen. So, I was rather depressed, but I am not one to miss a photo opportunity.

Creatures

Depth of field at Sungei Buloh.

Haven't been to Sungei Buloh in awhile (the last time was 3 weeks ago). I don't know why. Exams are over, marking's completed, I should have more time, but I have been really occupied the last few weekends.

Tired and unsung.

These are the people who clear our rubbish, build our houses, lay our roads, wash our dishes. They do very hard, very dirty work; work Singaporeans shun, at very little pay, and often under terrible living conditions. Instead of sticking our noses up at them, or making disparaging remarks about them (and I have been guilty of that myself) , the next time we meet them, let us give them a friendly smile of appreciation.
